Design Facilitation
The best part of my job is teaching others how to use design as tool for problem solving and connection. Over the course of my career, I have helped my own team and countless others to elevate their design and research practice through co-design and design thinking workshops. Check some examples out below.
I received my Enterprise Design Thinking Coach certification from IBM — this requires submission of a facilitation portfolio and extensive hours of experience coaching internal and external workshops.
CAMP HCD
Problem Statement/Opportunity:
The Human-Centered Design team at ZS had doubled in size in less than a year, and most people hadn’t met in person. When the opportunity arose to connect in the NYC office, my co-worker and I planned and facilitated a two-day team-building program rooted in creativity and fun. We included workshops on the team mission as well as activities like friendship bracelet making and make-your-own design skill badges. Having a theme kept things both energized and grounded, allowing us to make the most of our time together.
Role: Designer/Facilitator
Draft Agenda
Desired Outcome: Everyone feels like a team and makes strong bonds with one another. We are on the same page about what we do and how we do it.

REDUCING MACHINE USE
Problem Statement/Opportunity:
Design a better way for the Engineering System Test (EST) team to prioritize and organize bring-up and testing work while reducing machine footprint by 50%.
Outcomes:
Created a plan to reduce EST machine footprint over the next 6 quarters
Enabled EST team to reevaluate and reconstruct their ideas surrounding work style and collaboration
Introduced technical employees of IBM to design thinking and its capacity as a problem solving tool
NEW TO Z ONBOARDING
Problem Statement/Opportunity:
Design a better way for new associates and designers to answer the questions and learn the skills they need during their first year at IBM.
Outcomes:
Generated a novel onboarding experience for new associates and designers with a clear 30/60/90 day plan for implementation
Encouraged co-creation between associates and designers, resulting in a greater understanding of onboarding challenges across disciplines in the group
IBM/DFA/WDO COVID-19 SPRINT
Problem Statement/Opportunity:
How might we support health care centers who are at the beginning of their COVID surge as they develop new ER/ICU infrastructure and onboard healthcare providers working outside their specialty?
Outcomes:
Identified and created a partnership with VitalTalk, a physician-led communication tool, to amplify their message through design
Used design thinking methods to collaborate with designers on 2 continents and drive a rapid sprint
Introduced non-IBMers to the principles of Enterprise Design Thinking
STAKEHOLDER CO-CREATION
Problem Statement/Opportunity:
We worked with a digital assets security client to envision how we might partner to create hyper-secure key management and enhance both IBM and client offerings.
Outcomes:
Uncovered clear areas of overlap and possible exploration between companies
Used design to drive business-focused conversation towards empathy-driven product ideas.
Fostered ongoing relationship with client as sponsor user and business partner
